Kisumu is the largest city in Kenya after Nairobi and Mombasa.It is also the sixth largest City in East Africa after Dar es Salaam,Tanzania ,Kampala Rwanda and Kigali,Rwanda. Arthur Ashe is known as the first black man to win the U.S open in tennis. Arthur Ashe was born July 10th,1943 in Richmond,Virginia .U.S. He was also the founder for the defeats of AIDS in 1983. Ashe was married to Professional Photographer Jeanne Moutoussamy. Ashe was a TV sports commentator and columnist and wrote a 3-Volume books:"A Hard Road to Glory","Days of Grace" and "Off the court". Jessie Owens was born in 1913. He was an extraordinary African American athlete who excelled in 100m,200m,long jump and relay. In 1935 he managed to set three world records within a space of an hour. In 1936 Owens travelled to Berlin for the Olympics in Germany. Hitler was in attendance and wanted to try and promote his racist theories. Owens proved him wrong by winning the 100m,200m,long jump and gold in the 4×100 relay. He was the first American track and field athlete to win four gold metals at a single Olympic games. The culture of Africa is the cultural mix of indigenous people so the architectural history of this continent is extremely rich and varied. Architectural features of African countries. Because of the dangerous weather ,the houses in Africa are often built thick wall to keep the sun during the day and fight the cold air at night. The roofs in Africa are often used thatched roof. The architecture in Africa often use many materials such as wood ,mud ,rock,….North Africa uses stone and rammed earth. Africa’s forests use dry and mortar ,West Africa uses mud ,Central Africa uses plant,wood,and perishable materials and South Africa uses stone ,thatch ,wood. 24 January 1981. Just before midnight two Nigerian helicopters started the sprint from the Special Operations Group in Port Harcourt to a Cameroonian Coast Guard outpost off the Rio Del Ray, catching Cameroonian gendarmes off guard.
