Why are there people who still cling to the Saharan racial divide? There are indigenous black populations in North and Saharan Africa. North Africa is not just the coast along the Mediterranean Sea.
The presence of ancient, medieval and modern presence of Black Africans in the Sahara and the Sahel regions is well documented and indisputable.
Among these countries, a significant portion of the population of southern Morocco, northern Mauritania, Saharan parts of Libya, Algeria and Egypt passes as Black.
Now, the inherently and naturally racist Western world has two methods to cope with Black brilliance. If there are any kind of indication that the civilization is not built by Blacks but caucasians, they will keep denying. That is what is happening in the case of ancient Egypt (they letting their caucasian brothers claim the civilization). However, if the civilization is undeniably built by Blacks, they will purposely ignore it.
In this way, the Black presence in North Africa is purposefully ignored and the inherently racist western world clings to fake Saharan divide. Sometimes, it even denies it. They want to keep away Blacks from anything they value or anything that they consider significant as much as possible. If there is a Black around, the thing ultimately loses its significance for them.
I am really amazed why some people on this platform still deny, despite all the available historical evidence, that the Moors had Blacks among them by making people believe that Moors are equivalent to modern day Berbers (which is funny since the Berbers themselves have many Blacks among them). If you admit that the Moors were Black, you will also admit that Blacks were part of the army that invaded Europe and held many White slave captives. This is how the game is played.
The Berber dominated Moorish Almoravid dynasty (above) extended from Spain up to Northern Mali. Many orignally Black empires like the Kanuri also dominated places like Libya. The Sahara was and still is a multiracial region in which people practice similar Islamic culture despite their skin color variation. Solution: Black Africans should listen Black Africans only about Black history. We should know that any form of Western scholarship represents a world that enslaved, colonized, exploited and still is racist towards Blacks. Thus, native Africans must deconstruct all forms of racist Western narratives from Black history and view our history in a Black African lens.
